    Learning About XML Sitemaps?

    What is a sitemap?

Sitemap is a file which contains the list of web pages or Posts from our sites through this sitemap we can inform the search engines that this pages are available for crawling from our site. Sitemap is in XML Format This Allows us to add additional information in the sitemap about each URL: when it was last Modified, how often it changes, and how important it is in relation to other URLs in the site This will Help Search Bots To Crawl the site More Efficiently and time to time.

    What Sitemaps Blogger generates?

Blogger Creates Two type of Sitemaps This are:
    1. sitemap.xml
    2. sitemap-pages.xml

    1. sitemap.xml Contains all the Posts but not Static Pages With its last modified date and this can be accessed through

    http://www.your-site.com/sitemap.xml

    OR

    https://your-blog.blogspot.com/sitemap.xml

If you have custom Domain then follow the first instance.

If you have Blogspot Blog Structure Then Follow The Second Instance .

    2. sitemap-pages.xml Contains All your Static Pages Created by you For Example About Us, Contact, Privacy Policy etc so this static pages also are very important. So if you want this to be indexed or crawl by search bots then you need to submit it to Google Webmaster tools.

If you are thinking that you have submitted the first sitemap i.e sitemap.xml then everything will be indexed then you are wrong that sitemap does not includes static pages so you need to submit both the sitemaps. You can Access This Static pages sitemap by entering your sitename then followed by sitemap path.

    http://www.your-site.com/sitemap-pages.xml

    OR

    https://your-blog.blogspot.com/sitemap-pages.xml

If you have custom Domain then follow the first instance

If you have Blogspot Blog Structure Then Follow The Second Instance .
